Les Paul, the maestro

Of course anyone who plays electric guitar or records multitrack owes Les Paul a huge debt of gratitude. What really got to me was seeing the clips of him playing his weekly gigs in New York City. He was grace personified. His innovation paved the way for modern music, and when his records were eclipsed in the sixties by Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townsend, Jimmy Page, the Beatles, and all the rest, he just quietly kept on playing once a week in a small club, for the sheer joy of it. And he did it well, all the way to the end, ripping licks at 90 that a 20-year-old would be proud of. In the clips you can see his hands were gnarled by arthritis, but he just kept pickin' through the evident pain and doing it well. If ever there was a man totally in love with music, he was the one!
An inspiration unequalled and sorely missed....

Heather, I don't know again what will be the title of this CD. I accept your ideas if you have. The most important for me is to finish to write, mix, and arrange all these songs in order to obtain the best sound I can have. I need time, and I have not enough. That's the problem. BUT, it's amazing no? Of course, you will be informed. It would be nice to sing together but too complicated It's a pity. I work a lot on drums, bass and a friend of me realises all the guitars tracks. I do the rest on my keyboards. It's a long way... The weather here is clear and hot too. But we have known hottest than that. Thanks to add a picture of my daughter with you. We'll never forget. Bisous.

Music News from Frederic in France

Frederic....so nice to hear that you are still writing and working toward your goal for the CD!
What will your CD title be? We all can't wait to listen to your 3 years of dedication.
I bet the weather is gorgeous in France right now. I'm including a picture of Marie-Gaelle, Frederic's daughter, when she visited my studio last year. What a cutie-pie!!!!
Hi Heather,
It's Fred. ! Thanks for your invitation. It pleased me really...( oups not sure it's correct ). For the others, I'm french so my english may be is not perfect. I always work on my CD. I hope to finalize it soon, but I say that for 3 years...  I want 12 songs, and 8 are written and ready to record the voice. Of course, how speak music without speaking about MJ. I was fan of him. I didn't realize when I learnt the news, and I will never forget the artist he was. We had the chance to see him on stage in France in 1998. It was a great show, fantastic...Wouaaahh. One of my favorite is "Man in the mirror".
Ok, see you . Je t'embrasse
Et encore merci. C'est sympa d'avoir de tes nouvelles.

MJ Fan Club in Athens

Well, my beautiful Greek teaching friend, Sofia, in Athens, absolutely adored him, as well as a number of her students. She even had performances dedicated to MJ and his music prior to his passing. I guess they have quite a large MJ Fan Club there and have had an overwhelming attendance at the last few gatherings. I'm aware that the sadness from the loss is not quite over, however, I believe that in the near future the atmosphere will hopefully be of celebration for what he shared with us musically, along with his innovative stylings and creative perfection in his performances.

The Jackson Event

Heather is my favorite songbird. I've seen her perform and was knocked out by her delivery and her original compositions' beauty, matched by her personal energy and magnetism. Now she's teaching her art, and meeting people on their way up. She's a lot younger than me, but still mature enough to have seasoned opinions about the business.

I wonder what kind of conversations she's had with her students recently about Michael Jackson?

If you dream it....it can happen!!

I'm thrilled that YOU are here! Since I can remember, I wanted to be a singer and started the process when I was four years old.......I'm still at it at 51! What an exciting journey it has been so far, and looking ahead I see my dream coming to reality.

After performing as an entertainer and singer/songwriter for 35 years it's time for me to give back to you that which so many of my mentors have given to me.
